The third meeting of the Anatomical Society of Ghana is being hosted by the Department of Anatomy, School of Medicine and Dentistry, KNUST from the 28th to 30th June 2019 with the theme “Enhancing Health Care and Forensic Science Research - The Role of the Anatomist”. During the meeting there will be oral and poster presentations, the ASoG Prize Competition, an AGM of the Society, and an Education Discussion Session.  The majority of the meeting, including the Education Discussion Session will be in the IDL Conference Building, with other events such as poster display and trade exhibits being in adjacent areas.

Accommodation will be in the GUSS Complex Building/International Programmes Building/KCCR Guest House/SMD Guest House/Engineering Guest House which are situated a short distance from the IDL Conference Building, and comprises either standard single rooms or en suite single rooms. For those wishing to make alternative accommodation arrangements within Kumasi a list of hotels and their tarrifs will be forwarded on request: delegates will however have to make arrangements directly with the hotels. The conference dinner on Saturday 29th June 2019 will be in the New Pharmacy Building, College of Health Sciences, KNUST, which again is near both the meeting venue and the guest houses.

The School of Medicine and Dentistry, KNUST has recently been formed by the coming together of the former School of Medical Sciences and the KNUST Dental School, and is housed mainly in the Laing Complex adjacent to the Departments of Biological Sciences and Chemistry, College of Science, KNUST. In total, the faculty comprises about 170 academic staff in various disciplines. The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology is situated close to the centre of the city, and is one of the largest single site campuses in the country with about 55,000 students. KNUST is readily accessible by road and air.  The University buildings show a mixture of architectural styles testifying to its history as well as to its post 1960s expansion. The University is within a comfortable distance of the city centre with its many shops, theatres and restaurants. We look forward to welcoming you to Kumasi in June 2019.
