The family of Ekpe Subo V, known as Dr. Francis Jojo Damalie, a lecturer in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the School of Medical Sciences (SMS), Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), paid a courtesy visit to Prof. Akwasi Antwi-Kusi, the Dean of SMS, to announce his upcoming coronation as Togbi Ekpe-Subo V, Chief of Anlo-Afiadenyigba in the Volta Region.
Dr. Damalie's enstoolment took place during the funeral of the late Togbi Ekpe-Subo IV, where he was chosen as the successor last year.
The coronation ceremony is scheduled to take place on March 29, 2025, at the durbar grounds of Anlo-Afiadenyigba in the Keta municipality.
During his visit, Dr. Damalie, now officially recognized as Togbi Ekpe-Subo V, informed the University of his Coronation and the significance of the upcoming ceremony.
The Ekpe Subo Royal Family of the Agave Clan extended an invitation to the university leadership, staff, and colleagues to grace the occasion, emphasizing that their presence would be a great honor.
During the meeting, Prof. Antwi-Kusi expressed the university’s pride and excitement over Dr. Damalie’s new position.

Dr. Francis Jojo Damalie is a Lecturer in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, School of Medicine and Dentistry, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, Senior Specialist Obstetrician and Gynaecologist at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) - Kumasi, and the Fertility Consultant at Hallmark Medicals, a Specialist Fertility Hospital.
He holds Fellowships from The West African College of Surgeons (FWACS), The Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons (FGCS), and The International College of Surgeons, as well as a Postgraduate Master's Degree in Reproductive Medicine (MRMed) with a Sub-Specialization in Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) from the prestigious University of New South Wales, Australia.
He is also a Clinical Fellow at Rotunda: The Centre for Human Reproduction, Mumbai, India – a pioneering training institution in Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) in India.
