KNUST Medical School Hosts Special Engagement with International Students

The KNUST School of Medical Sciences (SMS) has organized a special engagement with its international student community as part of efforts to promote inclusivity and enhance student administration dialogue.

The event, themed “Dean’s Meeting with International Students,” forms part of the School’s broader #MeetTheDean and #SMSConnect initiatives designed to foster stronger relationships between senior faculty members and students from diverse backgrounds.

International students from various year groups participated in the meeting, which also saw the presence of lecturers and senior lecturers from the School of Medical Sciences.

The interactive session provided a platform for students to share their academic and social experiences, voice concerns, and connect with faculty members.

Speaking on behalf of the Dean, Vice Dean Dr. Fred Stephen Sarfo emphasized the importance of maintaining open lines of communication with international students and announced that the engagement would become an annual event on the School’s calendar.

“This is not just a one-time meeting, it’s the beginning of a tradition that ensures your voices are heard and your needs are met,” Dr. Sarfo stated.

The administration pledged continued support and responsiveness to the unique challenges international students face.

Ahead of the School’s 50th anniversary in October 2025, the School of Medical Sciences continues to prioritize student welfare through direct engagement and is expected to roll out additional student-centered programs in the coming academic year.
