Pearl Yayra Korsorku is the Overall Best Female Graduating Student at the 56th Congregation of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).
Pearl studied BSc Human Biology and graduated with a Final Cumulative Weighted Average of 84.89, making her the valedictorian for the graduating class of 2022.
She grew up in Mampong Akuapem in the Eastern Region of Ghana and had her basic education at Nana Ankobea Takyiwa School and then furthered her Senior High education at Holy Child School, Cape Coast. She completed Senior High education with 8As in the West African Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (WASSCE). Pearl was awarded as the overall best student and the overall best General science student for the 2018/2019 Academic Year. She was the Best student in Mathematics for the 2017/2018, and 2018/2019 Academic Years. Pearl was also a contestant in the National Science and Math Quiz for Holy Child School in 2019.
She revealed that her desire is to be well-versed and outstanding in every field she finds herself. “This pushes me to maximize the use of the resources available in making this a reality” she added.
Pearl attributed her achievements to diligence, discipline, perseverance, and commitment to her academics. She also expressed her profound gratitude to God, her family, teachers, friends, and loved ones who have been her source of motivation throughout these years.
She urged students to shun procrastination of their responsibilities and also cultivate the habit of balancing their academic work with the other aspects of their lives as this will enable them to develop holistically.
