Speaking on behalf of the year group, Dr. Ayisi-Boateng said that in 2017, when his group celebrated its 10th anniversary of graduating from the Medical School, they decided to give back to their alma mater. This according to him led to the establishment of the ₵20,000 Jubilee Class Research Fund (JCRF) to support the development of research among SMD students. He revealed that five (5) students with the best research work in community health will benefit from the fund. In addition, the group decided to support the hands-on training and community health activities, hence the donation of blood pressure apparatus to the school.

The Senior Assistant Registrar, Advancement and Alumni Relations Office of KNUST, Mr. James Oberko, acknowledging the efforts of SMD alumni, stated that KNUST is working tirelessly to connect with more of its alumni for the mutual benefit of both parties. He revealed that the Tek Connect mobile app would be deployed soon to facilitate the registration of KNUST Alumni for the purposes of real-time interactions with the university and mentorship programmes.
